Mr. Large had an idea to sell the extra New Palestine spirit wear that we had laying around in boxes in another room. The first thing we did was count up the shirts and mark down the sizes that we have. Next, we filled out a google forms and put pictures of the items and their prices. Then, Mr. Large sent out an email to all the teachers and staff to explain our project. The money made from these shirts will be put towards future Service Learning classes to help with projects. It took us about a week to prepare everything and have everything typed out. I have orders and number of items on paper, so after people order I mark down the items so we can keep track. After waiting a week for orders (and getting orders ready) we have 35 sales so far. We plan on delivering and collecting money during homeroom today and tomorrow. Tomorrow during class, Mr. Large will send out the google forms to the students at New Palestine. We are hoping to be able to sell everything within the next 2 weeks!
The End of Spirit Wear
We are coming to an end on our spirit wear journey. We first sold a lot of items to teachers and staff, which took us about a week and a half to deliver and finish all those orders. After that, we had Mr. Large send it out to the students. Within the first day, we got over 30 orders. We were so surprised with how many people bought items. We immediately went to work and started putting together orders. I sent out emails to students to confirm their order and if we ran out of something, I emailed and told them. We've been doing this for about 3 weeks and have gotten over $1,000 for future service learning classes. After we got money, we either gave it to Mr. Large or brought it down to Mrs. Glover in the Bookstore. We have three orders left to deliver and then we will be done with this project. It's been so fun to organize, plan and communicate with everyone around the school.
